PMAY is a credit-linked subsidy scheme by the Government of India providing affordable housing to the urban and rural poor.
Launched in 2015, the mission intends to provide housing for all by 2022 (extended in phases). It addresses the housing requirement of urban poor including slum dwellers through following programme verticals:

The core eligibility revolves around family income and checking if the family owns a pucca house.
Note: The woman of the family should be the owner or co-owner of the property for EWS/LIG categories (mandatory for new property).
